The authentic Mayan, not Mexican, cuisine is delicious! We have been there twice and both times the food, service and ambiance are amazing! For example, Molcajete Salsa, a smoky flavoured mixture of grilled tomatoes, ground pumpkin seeds, garlic and cilantro, Lima Soup, Pork Valladolid and Mushrooms Panucho. Hardworking, cheerful waiters, like Alex, make this unique culinary experience even better. The videos of the recipes and origins of Mayan culture and cuisine are fascinating! I wish we could bring this restaurant home!

The freshly made Guacamole table-side was one of the highlights of the entire trip. We choose a bunch of dishes from the menu and each one did not disappoint!
Try a selection based on your dietary but a good guide is maybe 4 to 5 dishes to have room left for dessert...for us, it was the fresh coconut ice cream which rounded off the entire experience nicely.
Do try the freshly made local beverage creations..healthy, light, flavorful and aides the digestion.
Overall an eye opener - compared to all Mexican food tried overseas in the last 40 years.
Definitely reserve a table a few days ahead if you're going for lunch as they also host cooking classes and other tasting experiences which although don't get in the way but may affect your ability to come in and dine.

We arrived at a quiet time and had no wait for a table, but it will likely be busy at times, especially when cruise ships are docked nearby. Recommend booking.
